The West Texas A&M men's basketball team is preparing for their next game against Pittsburg State. The Buffs go into the contest with a 1-3 record and they are coming off their first win of the season against Colorado State-Pueblo. The game is tomorrow starting at 7:00 pm.
The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs basketball team is getting set to play this Friday at 5:00 pm as they will take on Truman State. The Lady Buffs are going into the contest with a 2-1 record and currently riding a two-game winning streak. The Lady Buffs are led by Chon White who is averaging 18 points pre game and 11 boards per game.
In high school football action Thursday night, Farwell defeated Memphis 26-7. Breckridge got past Muleshoe easily 28-7. And Iowa Park beat Venus 52-14.
In high school football playoff action Friday night, Frenship got eliminated with a 55-34 lost to Abilene High. Amarillo High has seen their season end with a 56-35 lost to Arlington Martin. Lubbock Estacado lost to Stephenville in a shootout 69-60. Abilene Wylie blows out Levelland 75-21. Sweetwater beats Bridgeport 46-14. Celina blows out Monahans 43-15. Spearman remains unbeaten with a 62-28 win over Alpine. Idalou lost to Sonora 35-14. Canadian remains unbeaten with a 59-12 win over Windhorst. Stratford beats Ozona 32-24. Wellington beats Stanford 20-7. Quanah beats Booker 42-12. Crosbyton takes care of Sunray 62-34. Happy beats Grady in a shootout 76-50. Valley beats Borden County 66-64. Follett beats Whitharral 54-42. Groom blows out Southland 60-14.
In high school football playoff action Saturday, Randall beats El Paso Andress 49-33. Del Valle knocks Palo Duro out of the playoffs with a 38-17 win. Odessa Permian takes care of business as they beat Tascosa 49-28. Shallowater gets past Boyd 49-35. Gruver saw their season end as they fell to Seagraves 47-13.
The Amarillo Bulls and Lone Star will play the final of their three-game series tomorrow night. The Bulls head into the contest with a 7-13-2 record and 16 points on the season. The Bulls have dropped the first two games of the series. Gametime starts at 7:00 pm.
