In high school football action last night, Tascosa survives on the road against Lubbock Coronado 33-29. Hereford gets win number two as they defeat Caprock 42-36. Canyon improves to 6-2 on the season as they beat Palo Duro 38-31. Randall blows out Dumas on the road 38-10. Lubbock Cooper beats Plainview at home 28-18. Levelland beats Borger 42-35. Lubbock Estacado beats Pampa at home 34-29. In a battle of 4-4 teams, Vernon blows out Bushland 56-14. Perryton gets a statement win over Iowa Park 41-34. Muleshoe remains perfect in district play as they beat Childress 44-14. Littlefield also remains perfect in district play as they blowout Dimmitt 42-15. Friona beats River Road 21-7. Lubbock Roosevelt dropped their third straight district game against Idalou 41-30. Tulia flexs their muscles as they beat Sanford Fritch 53-8. Spearman remains unbeaten as they beat Highland Park 48-14. Canadian also remains unbeaten as they get a big home win over Stratford 51-35. Panhandle blows out West Texas 61-29. Wellington shuts out Boys Ranch 38-0. Sunray beats Wheeler 41-26. Booker remains unbeaten with a win over Shamrock 56-35. And Gruver shuts out Claude 54-0.
The Amarillo Bulls twice had to comeback from two-goal deficits to get a statement win over Corpus Christi Ice Rays 5-4 in the shootout. Brady Crabtree scored the game-winning goal in the shootout as the Bulls get their forth win of the season. Anton Martinsson pickup the win at goalkeeper. The Bulls were down 2-0 and 4-2 at different points in the game. After adding two points in the win, the Bulls are now 4-6-2 with 10 points and moved up two places in the South Division as they are now sixth in the division. The Bulls and Ice Rays will play again Saturday night at 7:00 pm in Amarillo.
The West Texas A&M Buffaloes football team is preparing for their final home game of the regular season as they will take on Texas A&M - Kingsville. The Buffaloes go into the contest with a 4-3 overall record with a 3-2 conference record and are currently tied for second place in the Lone Star Conference. The Buffaloes lost their last game last Saturday against Texas A&M - Commerce 48-21. Game time is today at 3:00 pm in Canyon.
The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs volleyball team played two games yesterday as they got 3-1 victories against Dallas Baptist and Lubbock Christian. Their record improved to 23-3 overall on the season. The Lady Buffs have two more games today as they will play Oklahoma Baptist and Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs soccer team fell to Midwestern State yesterday 2-1 as the team drops to 6-9 overall with a 2-5 conference record. Their next game is Sunday at 1:00 pm as they will take on Angelo State.
