WT Basketball Recap

The West Texas A&M Buffaloes were in a back and forth contest on Saturday, but eventually fell to Texas A&M-Commerce 76-75. David Chavlovich finished with 21 points in the lost with Miles Gatewood close behind with 15 points and six rebounds, but missed five free throws and the potential game-winning three pointer at the end of the game. The Buffs' record goes to 11-8 overall and 2-4 in conference play. The Buffs will be back at home tomorrow night as they take on Langston at 6:00 pm.

The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs had an impressive weekend as they won both of their games on Saturday and Sunday. They defeated Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday with an easy 100-73 win and took down Texas Woman's Sunday night 80-65. The Lady Buffs increase their record to 15-2 overall and 6-1 in conference play. The Lady Buffs will be on the road this Saturday as they will take on Eastern New Mexico in Portales.

Amarillo Bulls Top Odessa 4-2

After losing on Friday, the Amarillo Bulls bounced back with a 4-2 win over Odessa on Saturday night. Four different Bulls players scored goals, including three of the four goals coming in the second period. The Bulls increase their record to 16-21-3 overall with 35 points on the season. They will be back home Friday and Saturday against Corpus Christi.

Amarillo Native Ryan Palmer Finished Tied for 10th in Humana Challenge

Amarillo native Ryan Palmer finished tied for 10th in the Humana Challenge as he shot 19-under par for the tournament. He shot a 69 in the final round to finish three shots behind the leader. He earned $136,800 for his performance in the tournament.
